Dmitriy Ostrovskiy is a 1L certificate student and a Law Lab Fellow. He was born in Mariupol, Ukraine and came to Chicago in 2000. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 8 years as a Combat Engineer and Cryptologic Linguist before returning to Chicago to finish his B.B.A. in Accounting at Loyola University Chicago with a Minor in Information Systems and a graduate certificate in Business Data Analytics.

Dmitriy is passionate about immigration advocacy and criminal defense, and he hopes to harness legal technological innovation to improve access to justice in these two areas of the law.

During his first year at Chicago-Kent, Dmitriy declared his intent to pursue the Public Interest Law Certificate and the Legal Innovation + Technology Certificate. He plans to take Legal Analytics and Practice + Professionalism during his 2L year. This summer, he will be working as an intern at Community Activism Law Alliance.
